According to University of Queensland research, plants can
increase employee productivity by around 15 per cent.
According to co-author Alex Haslam, having green colours in
the office has a hidden meaning behind – it indicates that employer care about
its workers and their welfare. Moreover, office plants can make the space more
enjoyable and comfortable to work in, which results in business profitability.
The study by University of Queesland has discovered that
there are obvious long-term effects of green surroundings that make an
influence on employees’ productivity. The study was implemented in the UK and Netherlands.
Few offices that were comparatively small and with minimalist
interior design had more greenery as perceptions of workplace satisfaction, air
quality and concentration were monitored for a couple of months.
The findings revealed that
companies should invest in landscaping an office as it will result in an
increase in employees quality of life thus it will increase their productivity
as well.
